I’m a counsellor and psychotherapist based in Edinburgh, Scotland. I absolutely love what I do -- there is nothing better than witnessing real change in people's lives. Having experienced this change myself, it's a real privilege to be able to pay it forward. In addition to my private practice, I have experience counselling adults within NHS primary care and children/young people within the charitable sector. I am also a former primary/additional support needs teacher.

I earned my Master of Counselling degree from the University of Edinburgh, where I trained in person-centred and psychodynamic therapy. For me, this means that I believe we are all products of our experience, and that we all hold an innate ability to heal and grow under the right conditions.

Over time, my practice has expanded to include integrative somatic therapy (working with the body and the nervous system), and to make use of creative materials and the outdoors. When words don't feel like enough, we have a great range of options available to us for accessing and transforming your deepest truths.

Here's what I aim to offer:

- Respect for and support of your personal agency and boundaries

- Authentic human connection

- Curiosity and openness to experience

- A mirror/guiding light directed at your own sense of what is true for you

- Help with understanding yourself

- Seeking to see, hear, understand, and value every part of you and your perspective

- A sounding board and link with external perspective without denying or devaluing your experience

- Commitment to my own ongoing self-awareness

- Total acceptance, non-judgement, and compassion

- Help with managing and processing overwhelming feelings or parts of your experience

- A safe, reliable, and boundaried relationship/environment that I take responsibility for so that you don't have to

- A willingness and capacity to enter into darkness, stuckness, confusion, and/or conflict with you while remaining grounded
- The opportunity to be messy and to express parts of yourself you haven't been able to before

- Felt, experiential change in your capacity to be with and work through whatever's troubling you

- Help with finding yourself and integrating any lost or fragmented parts of your experience

- When appropriate, suggestions of strategies, potential explorations, or reflections on how I see things
- When appropriate, information about what science/theory/research say

I actively work to maintain an awareness and education around the ways in which difference, diversity, and systemic power structures affect people's experiences and the therapeutic process. No matter who you are, I will seek to understand things from your perspective. I am trauma-informed; neurodiversity-inclusive; and LGBTQIA+, BDSM/kink, ENM/polyam, and sex worker friendly.
